    NOVEMBER 2017 - FEBRUARY 2018

    Call for Artists! Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Mixed Media, Pastel, Mixed Media, Encaustics, Photography, etc! Cedar 65 Bistro & Gallery is accepting art submissions for the November-February 2017 rotation! We have our dining room set up with a studio gallery wall. If you have not been by, please come in to see how professionally the work is presented. (…stay for brunch or dinner.)

    The theme for the upcoming hanging (November 2017- February 2018): Winter Wonderland
    Deadline to send in your images: Wednesday November 1st (3 images only)
    Drop-off for art is Sunday November 12th 2017 from 2:30-4:30pm. 
    The work will remain up until February  18th 2017 - pick up from 2:30-4:00pm. 

    Date & time for drop off and pickup is firm! Please arrange for someone else to drop off or pickup your pieces if you cannot make it.  Send me an email with their name.

    No charge to enter. Cedar 65 will take 30% of all sales made.  
    We have room for pieces under 30” on our studio wall. Several other walls are available for larger pieces. No sawtooth hangers, professionally wired only.

    The Evergreen Artists Association (EAA) is offering the following annual scholarship of $1,750 to a graduating senior living mountain area high school in the foothills including Evergreen, Clear Creek County, Gilpin County and Platte Canyon County, who plans to major or minor in the Visual Arts in college in the fall following graduation.

    The Evergreen Artists Association Scholarship is based on merit and not need. The scholarship award is applied toward tuition at the school the winning student attends in the fall following graduation. We encourage students who plan to major in the visual arts to submit photographs of work created in various media. All two- and three-dimensional media art works are eligible.

    Interested students should submit 8-10 images of their best work. Judges are looking for imagination, originality, skillful execution and professional presentation to be juried for the scholarship.

    To Mountain Area Schools,

    Every year the Evergreen Artists Association offers two $300 grants to mountain area schools around and near Evergreen.

    Use this grant for anything that can help your further your students education in art - supplies, materials, books, guest artists, art field trips, projects that encompass the whole school, murals, etc.

    The school hereby agrees to use all grant funds solely for the purpose of art education, materials and/or art related durable goods and to submit receipts for verification of expenditures within 90 days of award.

    The Gilpin County Arts Association proudly announces its 70th juried art show in 2017. This is the longest continuously running juried show in Colorado. We invite artists to be a part of this historic event in Central City, Colorado. Open to artists in 8 western states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.  Deadline for entries is March 3, 2017. Jurors are John Fielder, Stephen Quiller, and Bob Smith.  Awards judge: Christopher Herron, Deputy Curator from Vance Kirkland Museum.  Awards: Over $3000 in cash prizes including $500 Best of Show. First, second, and third place awards will be given in all three categories (2D, 3D, photography.)  Additional information at www.gilpinarts.org.

    The Eyes Project is an exhibition which allows the viewer to see through the artists eyes.This is a cross-disciplinary work by 6 artists as they journey together in different media.

    The Boulder Art Association is holding its annual juried show on Labor Day weekend, September 4-7. They welcome artists in the Rocky Mountain region to submit work in any medium by July 15.

    42nd Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition
    Deadline to enter: May 11, 2015 (mail-in) and May 25, 2015 (online)
    Exhibition dates: September 19 – October 25, 2015

    The Rocky Mountain National Watermedia (RMNW) exhibition, in its 42nd year, is presented by Foothills Art Center in historic downtown Golden, Colorado.  RMNW attracts entrants and jurors from throughout the United States, and is regarded as one of the top watermedia exhibitions in the country. In 2014, FAC awarded over $8,000 in cash and merchandise to exhibition artists. Foothills Art Center (FAC) selected nationally recognized artist, Mark E. Mehaffey, as the juror for the 2015 Rocky Mountain National Watermedia exhibition. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society Dolphin Fellow, Transparent Watercolor Society of America Signature Life Member-Master Status, Watercolor West, and Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society.
