About Evergreen Artists Association
The Evergreen Artists Association was founded in 1958 by artists who joined together providing support and creating an organization for the advancement of the visual arts in our Colorado mountain community. Now, almost sixty years after the first meeting was held on April 24, 1958, EAA members continue to share their work in a wide variety of fine art and fine craft media as beginners, amateurs and professionals.
Since incorporation in April 1972, the EAA has promoted appreciation and enjoyment, as well as raised the standards of the visual arts in the mountain area.
Of the many activities the EAA sponsors, the best known is the Evergreen Fine Arts Festival which takes place in August of each year. Now rated among the top shows in the nation and noted for its quality, this two day Festival has been an annual Evergreen event for forty plus years. Artists from all over the country participate in this event which is attended by thousands from the Rocky Mountain region.
General Meetings enable members to enjoy a congenial and supportive camaraderie with artists of all levels and persuasions. Meetings may be social in nature or involve lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
The EAA Newsletter keeps members up-to-date on what is happening in Association affairs and gives advance information on upcoming events. Classes and workshops help interested individuals learn or develop skills in their medium.
Each Year EAA provides a Youth Art Scholarship award of $1750 to a graduating High School Senior or Homeschoolers in the mountain community who will go on to study art as a major or minor at university level.
The Evergreen Artists Association is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501c3 organization formed to support and promote the arts in the Evergreen, Colorado community.
